- Got back yesterday from our girls' weekend in Savannah, to celebrate Laurie's and my big birthdays! Had a great time. I will write a few highlights....I really really wanted a day at the ocean and I got it, and even better was how Ann especially made it happen. (She found a service where they pick you up, supply a cooler, towels, chairs and umbrellas, and they come get you). The house we rented was clean, spacious, and right by the downtown. The 4 of us got on very well and did great at communicating what we wanted and not feeling like we had to stick together at all times. In addition to the beach day, we also did a ghost trolley tour, a hop on/hop off trolley tour, and Doris and I did a tour of this very cool old house called Owens Thomas. As a college town, Savannah has a bustling downtown with cute shops. There was never any trouble getting vegan food. During the Owens Thomas tour, the guide covered slavery and the slave labor that was involved very well. The only downside was that it was so hot and humid - great when you are swimming at the beach, not great for anything else. Also our flight there was 2.5 hours delayed but we all coped.
- I forget how much I've ever delved into this before. Sometimes I get anxious when I travel, esp at nighttime. I went for more than a decade or two where I didn't - no anxiety at all. Sometimes it pops back up. Had a twinge of mild anxiety at night during the trip but got through it and managed to sleep.
- New episodes are out of shows I like (or even kinda love) like Wheel of Time, Star Trek Lower Decks, and Call the Midwife
- There is now a second Little Free Library on my block!
Fandom stuff:
- Sachin's birthday Cameos were so good. He even said that HE might do something fun on my birthday in honor of me. He asked me to tell him how Savannah went, and when I messed him to give him a brief rundown, he replied!
- Someone made me a Wesper moodboard!
- Also, I am starting to feel more...confident about the London trip for the Shadow and Bone con. Will I likely have some moments of nervousness, not to mention some "blah" from jet lag? Yes. But I want to go, I'll have Doris at my side, and I am confident that I can do it.
