Oh my, where do I start??
The travel
- Well it was amazing since we went business class. The seats reclined totally flat. The service was incredible, both in the lounge before the flight and on the flight. The vegan food was delicious. This is how travel should be. (Nitpicks though. The chargers at our seats didn't work. And they'd boasted that they have Paramount+ but they only have a small bit of its catalog. No Ghosts, which I'd wanted to re-watch).
- We wanted to sleep on the plane, since we took off at 4pm and landed 6am the next day. Despite the comfortable beds, we just couldn't. We napped in our hotel for a bit. Did what we could, and finally got good sleep Friday and Saturday night. (Tues and Wed basically became one long day with a nap instead of two days, LOL)
The non-fandom stuff:
- So little time and so much jet lag, but we still managed to take the tube and see The Tower of London and The Changing of the Guard. Doris did great at figuring out public transport. Our hotel is like an hour from London, so it wasn't quick. It rained and we got soaked to the bone on the Tower of London day. But we did it - and despite being jetlagged and sleep-deprived. Go us!
- Food is so much better here. Vegan options are literally EVERYWHERE. Like you walk into a coffeeshop and there's a vegan sausage roll. (Also their tube was clean, free of smokers, free of people blaring music)
Fandom!!
- Don't know where to start. Convention was small and very well-organized. Got a ton of time with the actors
- I came here mostly for Jack (who portrayed Wylan) especially since Jesper's actor cancelled. Jack delivered. He was on two panels. I also had an autograph session with him, a photo op, and a special fan-meet with just 20 others. So I got lots of Jack and it was all so good. Oh god his aura, his countenance....just heavenly. Sweet, kind, sincere, passionate, bright-eyed, and deliciously proudly queer. I love this man. (One of the rare times that a member of an OTP of mine is actually played by a gay actor. LOL). He shared some interesting behind the scenes stuff, like the opening part of the deleted scene from S2. (Jesper: "It's good to have your tea made by a chemist!") I congratulated him on the award he won recently. And he said what a wonderful scene-partner Kit (Jesper) was. Oh, there was the time Jack actually had to drive a horse-drawn carriage and he was nervous because Kit and the film crew were in the back. Kit basically helped to keep him from slipping on the seat. He knew Jack was nervous. Jack also told us what exactly "Kissy kissy rehearsal" was. (Basically that sometimes they rehearsed their scene with the kiss and sometimes without).
It was worth it to cross the pond to be around him! No regrets, loved it all even though we had no Kit Young. The rest of the cast was awesome as well.
Met up with 2 from the Wesper Discord and they were lovely too. Actually everyone at the con was nice.

Also it's awesome that the con went so well, and you got to have good interactions with Jack and that you had got to meet some of your discord pals too!

I am truly thrilled at how well the trip went! Like I can't even imagine how it could've been better. (Except for the actor Kit showing up at the last minute, but we knew that was not going to happen LOL)
