Gratitude again and really nothing daring
Jun. 20th, 2024 05:47 pmI need to seriously think about doing something to add to my 'daring' list. The last few weeks have been pretty quiet.
But here is some gratitude:
- Just remembering back to our London trip. One memory that I find oddly touching is that during the changing of the guard, we walked along with the other spectators, behind the guards as they marched from one palace to another. I remember holding Doris' hand and really enjoying it. Likely because we so rarely do PDAs (public displays of affection)
- Did another Postcards to Swing States shift last week. But I decided to go no more than once every 2 weeks. The work is rough on hands/fingers/backs (just general repetitive motion) and the distance is a lot. Getting there always feels faster but I am never home in less than 40 minutes.
- I was poking around downtown Oak Park last Saturday while Doris was at work (and before it got too hot). And this blows my mind but I encountered something I'd never seen before: Austin Gardens. It's a tiny forest preserve near the downtown. Like how have I never noticed it before after living here for 14 years?? It even has a Little Free Library
- Ann told me about Prolific. OMG I love it! You answer surveys online and make money. In 5 days I've made $44. No joke. I cashed out the first $40. (And that doesn't count surveys that I have completed and I am waiting for them to verify so I can be paid out)
- I rewatched all of Floor is Lava. I love it so much. I even LOL-ed at some of the host's jokes. Just wish I could find another game show like it. I love that each room has multiple paths and some hidden/unexpected things
I finished my epic Shadowhunters fanfic. 115,000 words. But on the non-gratitude front, I have an outline for a new fic but I just haven't had a strong desire to write it. I was a bit mystified at that until I realized that i have been writing fanfic nonstop since S2 of Shadow and Bone came out....in March of last year. Maybe I just need a break. I should add up all the words I've written in Shadow and Bone and Shadowhunters in the past year and 3 months.
