- Staffed the Dems table at the farmer's market this morning and OMG the enthusiasm for Kamala was through the roof. People asking for buttons, lawn signs, talking about potential VPs, signing up for Postcards to Swing States

- Next week I have a 2 night business trip. I don't love work travel but I am grateful because it's just 2 nights, and I haven't been on a plane for work since November. They also announced last week that we're to keep business travel to an absolute minimum - which is great, but it's also bad because part of the reason for that is that the company isn't doing as well. Which could mean layoffs. (This time I won't panic)

- Speaking of work, my company's Govt Relations team had/will have a presence at both political conventions. They asked for volunteers to just be hands on deck, like in case a governor needs a tour or that sort of thing. I volunteered. And so I also ordered 3 new dresses just to have something good to wear. They arrived yesterday. Two fit well and look good. The 3rd is maybe too tight in the bust but I'm going to keep it, since I worry that stuff that gets mailed back to Amazon maybe just gets tossed, plus I think I can still wear it to more casual events (maybe with a sweater over it, in the fall?)



- Just thinking back to a good memory the other day. Back in 2017 I went on sabbatical, and I've been remembering my last Friday before sabbatical. It was unseasonably un-humid, very pleasant and I remember feeling so excited and happy. (Alas no such luck with the weather as of late)

- Been doing DuoLingo to learn Spanish, and been really making an effort to meditate every day

- Tea and Scrabble date tomorrow! (And, if lucky, with vegan soft serve too)

- My fic is at the good part. (Not THAT kind of good part; this fic is rated Teen and Up. But Magnus and Alec will be reunited after months apart, and I can't wait to write the reunion)!

- And I think I decided what I'll ask of Doris for my birthday. I haven't been to Andersonville (neighborhood of Chicago) since before COVID. There's a feminist bookstore and cute cafes and a resale shop (if it's still there).

One thing I thought of with your maybe too-tight dress - would wearing it with a cami make it look better? Or is it really just the snugness that makes it too much? I actually just bought myself a handful of new camis so I could wear them under dresses that were too low-cut. I have one cami I love that's really cute but it's a little too loose I guess? It hangs down too much and depending on what i'm wearing with it, it can get too boobalicious. I was going to wear it when the guys from the software company were in a couple weeks ago and then I thought - we'll be sitting in meetings and then dinner ALL DAY and if I have to keep adjusting this top it's gonna drive me nuts. So I switched to a different one and so glad I did! There's a pic of us at dinner and I looked at it and thought 'i didn't have to mess with that cami AT ALL!' Anyway. THat's a lot to say 'would a cami work?' :)

Had a great time at tea & scrabble today, so glad big D could join us!

How's Duolingo? I know a bunch of people who do it, I always wondered how helpful it is. I signed up for the calm app thinking it would get me to meditate more, but I will say I do sometimes listen to it to help me sleep, so that's something.

Also, we need to celebrate your bday! DO you have a wish list you can share?
