Wallpaper removal
Dec. 20th, 2011 02:09 pmHave you ever removed wallpaper?
If you haven't, I strongly advise you to get out of doing so any way you can.
Almost makes me wish I were at work this week...

Date: 2011-12-21 12:07 am (UTC)I do take a damp rag and rub it over the section I'm trying to remove the stuff from first. Is there something else I can do?
My hands are gonna throb tomorrow, and I'm not even 40% done.

Date: 2011-12-21 01:09 am (UTC)However, I'd be using more than a 'damp' rag. I usually soak a large sponge in hot-to-warm water then get the paper really wet. Let it soak in for a bit, but before it's dry, scrape it off with a putty knife. (If the paper has a heavy vinyl coat as its top layer, you'll have to score it so the water can get to the paper layer underneath.) I also don't bother with any of the pre-made solutions that are supposed to help. They've never worked for me, so I finally gave up even trying.
*hugs* Hope tomorrow goes better!
