Just saw a fun movie. It was "Wedding Wars", in which Firefly's Sean Maher (Simon Tam!) had a big role. It was so nice to see him again. The movie was a comedy in which a gay wedding planner decides to go on strike against his brother's wedding when he learns that his brother is against gay marriage. The movie focused on the G in LGBT and ignored the rest of the community, but it made me laugh and had Sean playing a gay man in it, so I enjoyed it.

Edit - Also wanted to mention that the movie had some nice sibling moments too, with the straight brother having to deal with his latent homophobia towards his gay brother. There were some nice moments there.

Never heard of this movie, but I'll put it on my list! I remember when Sean Maher came out. I want to give him All The Hugs. And still do--not gonna lie.

I'd kinda forgotten him as of late - he hasn't done much since Firefly anyway - but this movie poked at and re-sparked my crush on the man.

Sounds promising. Although, I have to say that whenever I hear the word 'homophobia' I think of the quote that may or may not have been spoken by Morgan Freeman--"I don't like this term 'homophobia', these so called 'homophobes' aren't afraid of gays--they are just assholes." Makes me giggle now. I probably just butchered that quote but you get the essence of it.

OMG, that is a great quote! I need to use it more. One has to love Morgan Freeman.

As I said, I don't know for sure that he said that, and I may have messed the quote up a bit but it sure is a great quote. And how can you not love Morgan Freeman? *high-five*

He is, indeed. Although, I didn't actually HEAR him say that but it does sound like something that he would say. So, cheers!

There's this website called afterelton.com doing a 'march madness' style competition for slash fic pairings. Unfortunately it looks like at the current stage a lot of shows i like have already been "voted off" but I thought you might get a kick out of looking at it.

Mr. Whedon has filmed Shakespeare in his backyard. It has Sean in it and it was just bought by Lions Gate for release.... :)

(when I say he shot it in his back yard, I mean, he actually filmed it in his back yard)

I loved this movie when I saw it a while back! So glad you had a chance to finally see it and enjoyed it as well. :D

As [livejournal.com profile] garbagecanmusic mentioned, Sean's in Joss's new movie adaptation of "Much Ado About Nothing". So is Nathan. :) It just premiered at Toronto's Film Festival to really good reviews, and I'm really looking forward to seeing it now that it's found a distributor!

I'm not sure why it took so long for that movie to get to the top of my queue, but I'm glad it did!

And I am glad to see Joss working with FF actors. Sean needs more roles!
