I was thinking how much I enjoyed the wedding that took place at the end of The Outpost. That made me want to do a list of couples I've shipped lately and note whether they ever were allowed a canon wedding or not. Usually the answer is....no.

Miller and Jackson (The 100)
Never got a canon wedding, but did get a happy ever after. To be fair, in 7 seasons of The 100 there was not one wedding. And very few canon couples got happy endings.

Agron and Nasir (Spartacus)
Never got a canon wedding, but did get a happy ever after

Barca and Pietros (Spartacus)
Never got a wedding and in fact meet a very sad ending in canon :(

Stamets and Culber (Star Trek Discovery)
Well, the show is still ongoing. They're not married though they really have old married couple energy. I doubt we'll ever get a wedding

So who the hell did actually get a wedding??
Fitz and Simmons in Agents of SHIELD.  Talon and Garett in The Outpost. Jake and Amy in Brooklyn 99 (All of whom I love, though I never got super-fannish over Talon/Garett or Jake/Amy).

In summary? I've never really shipped a same-sex couple that gets an on-screen wedding. I'd sure love one. I about died when Miller/Jackson got a post-sex scene. I guess I need to be glad for the same-sex couples that just get happy ever afters.

Also, I really want to enhance this post with images of all the happy couples but I can't figure out DW's system, so .....here's a link to a Tumblr post with all their images, in the order they are mentioned here. (Agron and Nasir have their backs to the camera, but it is their "riding off into the sunset" moment, so I went with it)

Hmm, trying to think of who all my ships are and whether they got a wedding in-universe... So many of mine are AUs or something, y'know? Like ships I would never expect to become canon, and I'm mostly fine with that.

BUT. I am recalling that one of my canon straight ships (Captain Hook/Emma Swan in Once Upon A time) *did* get an in-universe wedding, but not so for any of the queer ships, canon and otherwise, that are also on that show. Interesting...

Possibly... Even mentioning OUAT feels a little weird because it's kind of an outlier is terms of stuff I enjoy watching. There are a number of factors to unpack there.

Okay so I'm rewatching OUAT again bc I never got to the wedding episode before. Skipping around and watching episodes exclusively for my OTP is the *best* way to rewatch things!

Yep!! Especially if your OTP is canon, especially-especially if it's a slow burn, it's so delightful to watch them fall in love all over again. I don't often appreciate that, since so many of my ships are AUs.

I guess with everything happening on the 100, putting aside time for a wedding wasn't high on the priority list!

I was super delighted that Kevin and Holt got a vow renewal though I was bummed that they had to rush through it.
