TV again - endings

I was thinking again how much I loved the ending of the show The Outpost and how my initial thought was something like "This is one of the few shows that gets a good ending! Most of the shows I love have a meh ending. So I love The Outpost all the more." Then I decided to go through the recent list I made of my favorite shows.

Which ones have a satisfying conclusion? Of course 'satisfying' doesn't mean 'happy'. In Spartacus, most characters except for one of my OTPs die. 

Satisfying conclusions (conclusions that felt like a solid tribute to the show and its characters):
- Spartacus
- Brooklyn 99
- The Outpost
- Agents of SHIELD (mostly, though I still have some quibbles)
- Also, shows I'm not as into, like She-ra and 12 Monkeys
- And we won't know for another 3 weeks, but I am confident that The Expanse will be on the list when it wraps

Slapdash, poor, GoT conclusions:
- The 100

That's it? Of all my favorite shows, this is the only one that had a sloppy ending that didn't feel true to the characters. So....I guess I've just been lucky with the shows I like? Or bad endings aren't as prevalent as I think they are?

I feel like showrunners have a better sense now of what kinds of endings their fans are looking for and have tried to learn from the shows that have had universally panned endings (like GoT or, from back in the day, the Sopranos). ALso sometimes shows get canceled and they don't get to give them a real ending, which is something that drives me nuts. Like, I don't even want to start a show if I find out that it just ends at the end of a season where they had plans for the upcoming season.

I do hope most showrunners know to avoid a GoT ending nowadays. (I've never even seen GoT; I just keep hearing how terrible its ending was). And yeah, it is rough when they just get cancelled. I didn't include Dark Matter on the above list; it was good but it just got cancelled and ends on a cliffhanger.

I haven't seen GoT either. A friend recommended the books but it's all political machinations which I have zero interest in.

Ugh, canceled shows that end on a cliffhanger are THE WORST.
