stormkeeper_lovesall- Saturday we got a "stay of execution". Doris had to work Saturday, and I was tired. But her family was going to celebrate Father's Day that day. Oh man, I did not feel like going and neither did she. But before we left, she called and....they'd decided to celebrate on Sunday instead. YES!!
- Sunday was awesome. My friend Pam was in town, and her son Alaska had a drag show here at an outside PRIDE festival. So many good things! We got into the VIP section so we were right up at the stage. Weirdly I had no trouble standing the whole time. The weather was absolutely perfect, not hot or humid at all. We got a few minutes with Alaska inside her trailer beforehand. It was my first Alaska show in 4 years. And after the show, I got to meet Chicago mayor Lori Lightfoot at the VIP section!
The next two are more on the serious end...
- I'm in therapy! It's been a long time since I've had some. But my company reached out to all employees; they are working with some LGBTQ+ org to expand their therapy outreach to LGBTQ+ employees. Had my first session Monday. I told the therapist that I feel good 95% of the time. But I want to work on that 5% when I feel anxious or not good.
- Sometimes with gratitude it's easy to overlook the stuff you've always had. I am grateful for having a supportive mom. I remember a time when we were kids....all the neighborhood girls were getting together to put on a play. My sister and I were the oldest 2, and one of the neighbor moms asked my mom if Tina (my sister) would write up the play. Mom said that I was the writer, and she should ask me. It is cool to have had a mom who recognized my talents.
- Back to fan girl stuff. I got a comment on one old Spartacus fic yesterday, and a Tumblr reblog of another with nice comments in the tags. Also, my favorite actor on Spartacus, Antonio....I think I located on IG his wife and kids. Not to be stalker-y just that his wiki page says he's married and I've always kinda wondered. I mean, it's natural for a fan to just want a bit of info on the celeb's family. So anyway, I enjoyed finding a couple posts with their pics. (And don't worry, I'm not going to fly to New Zealand to meet them. This was just to satisfy my curiosity)

Yay for therapy! I really like having a neutral sounding board about stuff, though of course you can only share what you know (like when I talk about my sister)
Really cool that your mom recognized your writing even at a young age! I remember when we used to write... I don't know, were they fan fics of ourselves? LIke, what we'd be doing as adults? I think I only wrote a couple, you and Margaret may have written more. I remember that I was always like well obviously Marianne will be a writer! I think also was sure Margaret would be a vet. ANd I'd make myself a jack of all trades because fuck if I knew what I wanted to be (still true lol).
yay for reblogs of your fics! And yeah, I agree, not that weird to take a look at pics of their family, very weird if you planned on using this information to meet him or something.

I promise that with Antonio's family, I just wanted to glance at a few pics. Nada more
