An OMG moment

Normally I like to wait a few more days in between gratitude posts, but I'm gonna go ahead and post about this one. Since it's big.

Saturday I am driving to a friend's party. I'm using my GPS, and as I drive, I see notifications pop up that the actor I like (Sachin!) is messaging me on Cameo. I get like 5 or 6 notifications in a row. I can't figure out if the app is just giving me multiple notifications for 1 message or if he's messaging me many times. I think on it a bit and decide to pull over so I can read them.

He doesn't message me much on Cameo; just a little. Sometimes I order a Cameo from him, ask him a question, he answers it in the Cameo vid itself and tells me to put my answer (to questions like "What is your favorite place on earth?") in the Cameo messaging. But usually he doesn't; basically it's not like we regularly message back and forth on there. 

So I pull over and read his messages to me. The first have to do with a convention that was cancelled and such. He thanked me for never asking him for the details. He also thanked me for my congrats on his new role, and he wished me happy birthday. And then he dropped a bomb. He wrote, "If you're ever Vancouver, don't hesitate to tell me for sure! Would love to grab dinner with y'all!" 

Needless to say, I was delighted and floored. I didn't reply right away; wanted to think about it. Eventually I replied, first with just a bit about the other items. And then said something like, "So I have a ton of vacation days banked and a ton of frequent flyer miles, so I can be in Vancouver whenever you want! Would love to do coffee or lunch or dinner."

Based on my last experience with him (the time when he asked if I wanted to do a 1:1 Zoom call), I knew that he wouldn't reply right away. It's been 3 days so far. Last time, he reached out to me on a Saturday and got back to me on a Thursday, so I expect nothing quicker this time. :)

Just trying to decide my next move. Perhaps there is no next move and I just wait for him, since the ball is in his court. The only other idea I have is this one: he loooves wrestling and goes to wrestling shows. I could ask him when next he's going to one and offer to do coffee or whatever before or after the show. 

If I do that, I won't do it any earlier than Thursday. I need to give him time to reply to my message from Saturday. So I really don't know what to do. Will keep thinking on it. But in any case WOW HOW AWESOME IS THIS???

Okay, how do you LIVE like this? I feel like every third celebrity encounter you have turns into a lifelong friendship, and I'm amazed by it. You have a gift!

It certainly is....fortunate or odd or both. I know someone might look at the situation with Sachin and be like 'what the hell, is he trying to get into your pants??' But he's seen what I look like multiple times and I am not hot and he knows it. :)

And in the meantime, I will try real hard to not check Cameo every 20 minutes.

LOL--well, don't sell yourself short, but no, I'm sure it's innocuous like you said. I still haven't used Cameo, but I have heard very good things about it from people who do!

It's nice that you didn't pressure him to talk about the convention, but it's too bad he didn't give you the downlow ;) But I'm guessing since he was thankful you didn't ask about details, he probably didn't want to talk about it.

Hopefully you guys can connect soon and make some plans, so frustrating to have to wait and wait and wait.

Yeah, I figure he doesn't want to give the details about the con and honestly, even if he did tell me the info, what good would it do?

Waiting and hoping regarding Vancouver!
