It's happening!

It's happening! After nearly 27 years at the same company, I am going to be leaving to work at a nonprofit. Long story short...my boss met with the head of the nonprofit. (We've been partnered with them for nearly 10 years so all parties need to be on good terms). Then she met with me, and we all have a plan. I will stay at my current company till about April or May. Then I will start to transition to the nonprofit.

The nonprofit is going to hold the job for me as long as needed. The CEO said that I have a job with them anytime, anywhere. (WOW they want me!!) They even said they'd put it in writing if we want. And my current boss was clear that she doesn't want me to lose this opportunity. 

Doris is still not thrilled with the pay cut, and I realize in talking with her that she has always been even more risk-averse than I. But it will work and she is ok with it.

I am excited!! It is time for this change.
