Random gratitude

stormkeeper_lovesallIt's been a while since I posted so here's a bit. There's not a ton new here.
- Our friend Eric moved back to North Carolina (to be with his dad who is dying, plus he 'got no job and no man' in Chicago). I was glad that we were able to help him; he's storing a ton of stuff in our basement, and he stayed with us for 2 days after he moved out of his apartment so that he was able to get on a cheaper flight to NC. It was nice to spend some time with him.
- We had a very nice surprise that turned out to be very fortunate. Doris and I both had in our heads that last Saturday (2 days ago) was one of the Saturdays she was working. But she was actually off that day! And thank goodness for that. Eric had the movers bring his stuff on Friday. I am terrible at spatial organizing. Doris and Eric organized the basement so that we have room for Eric's stuff and can still move around the basement. I'd spent a minute feeling overwhelmed with it, so I am so glad Doris was here to handle it.
- And as part of the above, Doris cleaned and tossed some of her stuff. YES!! (I literally beg this woman to clean and toss/recycle her stuff. As I do with my parents. I usually get nowhere).
- We had tea with my parents yesterday. It was good to see them; this was our first visit since they returned from Italy.
- Fandom stuff! It's really nice being in the Shadow and Bone fandom. I've posted 4 fics, 2 about the more popular ship (Wesper) and 2 about the less popular one (Fivan). I've gotten nice feedback on all of them. The Wesper fics are at 102 and 70 kudos - yes!! It's been a year and a half since I got into the triple-digits on a one-shot fic. Lots of bookmarks too. Commenting seems to be dead in many fandoms, though like I said, I got a few. Having a blast writing and being in this fandom.
