Deep thought of the day. Some of my fanfic has queer characters feeling bad about being queer. Do I write about it because in reality, I feel bad for being a sellout?

And it's easier to feel bad about something you can't control (being queer) than something you can (being a sellout)

I mean, we grew up in an era when many (maybe even most?) queer people felt bad about being queer, thanks to church or peers or parents or whatever. Of course, these days there's so much anti-queer sentiment, I wonder if the young queer folks are struggling with this again.

I would say I've felt low-key bad about being a sellout for the past 30 years or so :)
